16 juni 2022Ruth Ozeki wint de Women's Prize 2022 voor haar roman The Book of Form and Emptiness! Gisteren werd de prijs uitgereikt.
De Women's Prize for Fiction is een literatuurprijs die jaarlijks wordt uitgereikt aan een Engelstalige roman van een vrouwelijke auteur, ongeacht nationaliteit, die werd uitgebracht in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. De afgelopen jaren wonnen Susanna Clarke (2021), Maggie O'Farrell (2020), Tayari Jones (2019), Kamila Shamsie (2018), Naomi Alderman (2017), Lisa McInerney (2016) en Ali Smith (2015).
De jury:
'In an extraordinary year for fiction written by women, and from an incredibly strong shortlist, we were thrilled to choose Ruth Ozeki’s The Book of Form and Emptiness, which stood out for its sparkling writing, warmth, intelligence, humour and poignancy. A celebration of the power of books and reading, it tackles big issues of life and death, and is a complete joy to read. Ruth Ozeki is a truly original and masterful storyteller.'
